Nimrod Ebenezer C. Tica has been ministering as a pastor since 1996 and joined the IGSL faculty in 2000. An ordained minister of Higher Ground Baptist Missions, Inc., he is actively involved as worship committee member at Evangel Baptist Church and as Sunday school teacher at Wheaton Bible Church, both located in Illinois.

Nimrod graduated with high honors for his ThM and MDiv degrees, and as Magna Cum Laude for his bachelor’s degree. He is a scholar of Langham Partnership and ScholarLeaders International, and has been granted the R. Kent and Barbara J. Hughes Fellowship Endowment for the Doctoral Program in Biblical and Theological Studies at Wheaton College Graduate School.

He contributed an essay, “The Miracle of $16”, in the book Coincidence or Miracle V, and wrote a ThM thesis on “The Relevance of the Doctrine of Inerrancy in the Context of the Filipino Culture in a Postmodern Setting”. He also presented the paper “A Theological Engagement with Larry Hurtado’s Early High Christology” at the Evangelical Theological Society Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas on November 2016.

As a teacher, Nimrod believes that theology is an indispensable aspect of knowing God and making Him known to others. He is passionate about theology because he is committed to the Great Commission, and his desire is to teach theology for transformation. For him, it is important to think critically through theological issues with a goal to see personal life-change, which eventually leads to societal impact.

He is married to Vivian, and they have four lovely daughters, Samantha, Yvanna, Pia, and Emmanuelle. He enjoys spending quality time with his family as well as playing sports like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and chess.
