Michael R. Cariño joined IGSL as full-time faculty in 2009. He teaches in the Theological Studies Department, mentors students in his Iron Sharpening Group (ISG), and serves as a member of the Leadership Programs team.

Mike is a speaker, writer, mentor, teacher, and life coach. He has been speaking to various organizations, schools, corporations, and churches for more than twenty years.

He grew up as a youth leader at the Lutheran Church in the Philippines.  He was a campus missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ (1994-2004), a youth pastor with Church So Blessed (2004-2005), and a national mobilizer with Jesus Revolution Now Foundation (2003-2004).

Mike is co-author of the books entitled, Real Time: Devotions for the Filipino YouthA Pocketful of Virtues, and Lessons from the Field. In 2015, he presented a philosophical paper entitled “God on Trial: Modern Philosophers and the Problem of Evil in the World” at the Asian Theological Seminary (ATS) Theology Forum and the Philosophical Association of the Philippines (PAP) National Conference.

Aside from his roles in IGSL, he is presently a missionary pastor at the Christian Bible Church of the Philippines, a resource speaker for Diwa Learning Systems, and a certified trainer for Norman Geisler International Ministries.

Mike is happily married to Ethel. They have a son named Josiah Kairos. Together, they seek to help reproduce transformational leaders in the Philippines, Asia, and beyond.
