IGSL FACULTY MEMBER SINCE
Frieda Yoder grew up in a rural Mennonite community in Kansas, USA, deeply committed to expanding God’s kingdom into regions where Christ’s name has not been preached. Her passion for ministry led her to serve in China for 18 years, where she taught English to college students and was involved in campus outreach initiatives. Prior to her time in China, her ministry career involved serving various disenfranchised groups, first as a chaplain’s assistant to women in prison for five years, and later as an Adult Life Skills Director for nearly a decade, helping disabled adults develop essential life skills.
At IGSL, Frieda prepares students for both the PIM and advanced studies courses by helping them achieve the necessary English proficiency for their academic success. She finds joy in equipping students for ministry in restricted access areas, aligning with her lifelong passion for extending the reach of God’s kingdom.
As the Prayer Coordinator at IGSL, Frieda actively encourages a culture of prayer on campus and supports students’ spiritual formation through organized retreats and other initiatives.
In her personal time, she enjoys listening to sermon podcasts and engaging with students, learning about their life stories and the ways God has worked in their lives and families.
