Dear IGSL Family,

As you read this prayer letter, would you grab a Bible near you or open your Bible app? Isn’t it amazing that we have the Word of God in our hands today? Through God’s faithfulness, as testified in the Bible and in the lives of His prophets and scribes, we can read and meditate on His living Word in this very moment.

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever. –
Isaiah 40:8

We are so grateful that IGSL has been gifted with modern-day scribes. They are teachers, theologians, scholars, and practitioners who are committed to faithfully digging deep into His Word and teaching it to equip the Church to fulfill the Great Commission. Their books and articles, whether commentaries, manuals, treatises, or practical guides, equip leaders and the wider Christian community in examining God’s Word, exploring our Christian heritage, and engaging the mission field.

We praise God for these publications by IGSL faculty members. Published within the past six years, these are their invaluable contributions to the academe and the global church.

A Together-One Commentary on Ephesians

Three faculty members from the IGSL Biblical Studies Department contributed to this commentary on the book of Ephesians: Seni Finau (Tonga), Moi Mosquera (Philippines), and BJ Villanueva (Philippines). It’s a unique commentary in that a group of authors from various nations across Asia and beyond wrote it, rather than the usual single author. As stated in its foreword, this commentary beautifully “communicate(s) and display(s) the ‘together-one’ picture of the church.” Made available for free as an e-book by its publisher, the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines.

A Manual for New Testament Exegesis

This essential textbook has had five editions since 1999, with the latest published in 2023. Building on the courses “An Introduction to Greek Grammar” and “Integrative Introduction to Bible, Culture, and Theology,” it is packed with guidance and additional resources to help effectively interpret the Greek New Testament for oneself. The attitudes and approaches in the 8-step exegetical process of this manual by New Testament and Biblical Greek Professor Dr. James Huculak encourage budding exegetes not to master God’s Word but to be mastered by Him and His message.

Books by Dr. Lizette and Dr. Michael Knight

Drs. Michael and Lizette Knight are lifelong educators who teach research and curriculum development in the advanced studies programs of IGSL. They also teach leadership, education, and research classes in the master’s degree programs. Published in 2025, Christian Education Ministry is a book they wrote that “is especially useful for professional Christian teachers and Sunday school instructors who want to integrate theology, philosophy, and developmental research into their ministry.”

Another useful resource for educators, written by Dr. Lizette, is Outcome-Based Learning and Teaching Methods. It helps teachers “design and evaluate lesson (their) plans efficiently, craft effective goals across learning domains, and engage (their) students using over 200 outcome-based methods.” A prolific writer, Dr. Lizette has written nine other books published from 2006 to 2019.

Books by Dr. Stephen Pardue

After finishing a PhD in Systematic Theology in 2012, Dr. Stephen Pardue has written, contributed to, or edited a book or book series almost every year since 2013. These books highlight theology in the Asian context and the global church, true to his passion for teaching theology to help leaders in the growing Asian church to love and understand their faith more deeply as they create new resources for their local contexts and seek to obey the Great Commission.

His latest book, published in March 2026, Retrieving Humility: Ancient Christian Wisdom for Modern Discipleship, circles back to a theme he explored in his dissertation that was published as a book in 2013, The Mind of Christ: Humility and Intellect in Early Christian Theology. Other titles he has worked on since 2020 are: Majority World Theology: Christian Doctrine in Global Context (Editor, 2020), Why Evangelical Theology Needs the Global Church (Author, 2023), and Exploring the New Testament in Asia: Evangelical Perspectives (Series Editor, 2024).

Through your faithful partnership with IGSL, more scholars, teachers, theologians, and practitioners are being equipped to strengthen the church in fulfilling its calling. We pray that more contextualized and biblically sound resources will be produced for the expansion of God’s Kingdom as His people grow more deeply in His Word.

Serving with you in building leaders for transformation,

Great B. Mabuti, PhD
IGSL President
