David Haken grew up in the Silicon Valley of Northern California before studying theology at Western Seminary where he took several very formative classes with Tim Mackie, of the Bible Project. From him David learned the key role structure and literary design play in communicating the message of books of the Bible. Mackie’s affinity for charts and diagrams has also worn off on his student.
Outside of the classroom, David enjoys spending time with his wife Liz, going on “adventures” with his young children (Philip, Andrew, and Molly) and pretending he’s good at pickleball.
