IGSL FACULTY MEMBER SINCE 2014
Alyse Thompson provides Counseling Services to students and spouses in our residential program. She specializes in helping clients recover from traumas like interpersonal violence and neglect, death of a loved one, and natural disasters. Alyse has also extensively studied situations of closed systems with coercive power and control as in abusive relationships, cults, and human trafficking. As a Clinical Supervisor, she has mentored many counselors-in-training. In Alyse’s heart, she is particularly passionate about following Jesus in loving people where they are, helping them find connection in supportive groups, and nurturing them through Compassionate Communication.
Craig and Alyse Thompson have been joyfully married since 1996. They are both originally from Texas, but consider Chicago their second home. Alyse and Craig serve at IGSL through their sending mission agency, TeachBeyond.
When not at work, you can find Alyse dancing in a group fitness class, curating her photo and music collections, or creating crafts, especially sewing.
