Kathy Edwards is a Registered Nurse since 1986, and a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse from 2010 to 2018 in the USA. She worked as Home Health Care RN for 34 years with 10 years being in the field of Hospice. She and husband Rev. Brian Edwards flew to the Philippines to join the IGSL faculty in January 2020, at the onset of the Covid pandemic. With more than three decades of nursing experience, their arrival was especially ordained. Kathy was part of the Task Force that served the campus community composed of faculty, staff, students and their families under lock down during the early days of the Covid Pandemic.

Kathy has been partnering with her husband in the ministry since the 1990s. Discipleship and theological training have been at the heart of their ministry since their early days of marriage. They served as Pastor & Wife at First Baptist Church Tucson from 1990-1994, then at Lincoln Berean Church from 1996-2002. From 2002 to 2020, they were Missionaries with SEND, living in Sofia, Bulgaria. They are currently with Global Scholars serving as Missionaries at IGSL from January 2020 up to the present.

On IGSL as a mission-field, Kathy explains, “IGSL not only focuses on theological education, but also on heart transformation through discipleship of its students. These philosophies drew us to IGSL. Since raising our 3 children during our ministry years as a pastor and missionary, I’ve been drawn to ministering to other pastor’s wives especially those trying to juggle ministry demands as well as raising their children. IGSL’s Partners in Ministry (PIM) program is an incredible opportunity to do just that.”

Kathy and Brian have three grown children: Karis and husband Malcolm Riley, Andrew and wife Ashley, Hope and husband Ben Crelin. She enjoys building things with her hands such as sewing and remodeling homes. She loves cooking and trying different foods. A great swimmer herself, Kathy loves the water and spending time at lakes and the ocean. .
