Dr. Christopher Uy, more known as Cris Uy, is the third and current President of the International Graduate School of Leadership (effective March 1, 2021).  He brings with him over three decades of leadership experience having served key roles in various institutions.  His key competencies are in the areas of Ministry Development, Partnership Development, Strategic Planning, Team Facilitation, Research and Development, and Strategy Development.

Dr. Uy has always been a part of IGSL Leadership, being a Member of its Board of Trustees for nearly a decade prior to his appointment to his current role.  He is a Missionary of Cru Philippines (formerly Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ or PCCC) for 32 years now, and is part of the leadership team of Cru Global, providing oversight to ten countries of Southeast Asia.  At present, Dr. Uy is one of the Board Members of Church Strengthening Ministry Inc., and is also among the leadership team of Christ’s Commission Fellowship’s Fairview Satellite, also known as the CCF’s Council of Servants.  Additionally, he is a fellow of Pimentel Institute for Leadership and Governance (PILG), a non-government organization in the Philippines aiming to equip and empower elected local officials on serving with integrity and high capacity.

A seasoned leader, Dr. Uy is the current Area Team Leader for CCC Southeast Asia, a role he faithfully held since 2012.  Prior to this, he was the National Director of the Philippine CCC from 2011-2012.  From the year 2008 to 2011, Dr. Uy served as Director of the Marketplace Ministry, and from 1993 to 2008, he was Director of the JESUS Film Project.   Dr. Uy championed a number of ministry and social initiatives, including pioneering the Muslim ministry of PCCC, founding of Community Influencers’ Impact (an entity that provides the secular world opporunity for leadership training with biblical perspective), and co-founding of VoteNET, a network of Christian groups involved in non-partisan activities to educate voters and ensure the integrity of elections.

Among Dr. Uy’s written contributions are his dissertation entitled Leadership Development Framework for Scattered Leaders of Campus Crusade for Christ in Southeast Asia: Prospects for Management Direction written together with Rosalie Salonga, Ph.D in 2017, and his Thesis written with Jeanette V. Loanzon, Ph.D in 2014, Does Integrating Spiritual Activities in Microfinance Lead Towards Client’s Better Stewardship, Accountability, and Confidence? Dr. Uy was a contributor to the book,  LEGACY: One Man to Another (2005, updated edition 2018) by CrossOver Books, an imprint of CSM Publishing, and he also authored VoteRIGHT, an evangelistic non-partisan voter education booklet for PCCC.

Dr. Uy has been married to Maria Elena (Marlyn) for 25 years now, and has two children: Kristine Danielle and Samuel Jedidiah. His hobbies include running, swimming, reading, gardening, technology, outdoor activities, and pets.

Making the home a reflection of God’s glory, constantly developing oneself and others holistically, reaching out to the most influential leaders of the nations, and doing missions that contribute to national transformation are the values close to his heart.  His personal mission statement aptly summarizes it all: “To fully live out my calling as a husband to Marlyn, a father to Danielle and Sam, a leader to my teams, and a servant to the Body of Christ, all for the glory of God.”
