- be an education practitioner or planning to become one
- have a personal ministry of evangelism and discipleship or teaching ministry (Sunday school, ALS, etc.)
- pass a written examination covering math, English and abstract thinking.
- have an undergraduate degree in education
- take two additional courses in education if undergraduate course is non-education
